About This Opportunity Join our dynamic team as a Market Research Specialist based within Marketing and Communication and play a pivotal part in shaping the student experiences at the University.
In this role, you will lead and support research activities that uncover valuable insights into student and staff behaviours, motivations, and needs.
By employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods, the role aims to inform strategic decisions, enhance student experiences, and contribute to UQ's voice-of-customer program.
Your expertise is essential in driving improvements across products, services, and processes while fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that research outcomes effectively inform key decisions and organisational goals.

Key responsibilities will include:
Research and analyse customer behaviours, motivations, and needs through qualitative and quantitative experience research methods to identify opportunities to improve student and staff experiences.
Contribute to the roll-out of UQ's voice-of-customer program in collaboration with internal stakeholders, including Customer Experience Research and Design, Customer Analytics, and other teams.
Lead the planning, facilitating, and reporting of customer research, such as organising research panels (typically through external service providers) and recruiting research participants.
Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with upskilling and training others in experience research practices.
Advise senior stakeholders and a broader UQ community on the outcomes of research and/or best ways to use provided data.

About You Bachelor or higher degree from a tertiary institution in marketing, business or psychology subject areas or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated experience in quantitative research, including survey design and analysis, liaising with external panel providers, and ideally advanced statistical analyses.
Demonstrated experience in qualitative research, including conducting focus groups and interviews.
Experience conducting unmoderated studies would be an advantage.
Demonstrated high-level analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to synthesise complex data sets, support identifying actionable insights and translating findings into strategic recommendations that drive decision-making and business outcomes.
Strong collaboration, interpersonal, verbal, written and visual communication skills including an ability to work effectively across formal structural boundaries.
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, including liaising with key stakeholders to understand their needs, gather requirements, and translate insights into actionable research plans.
Working knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, Q), databases, and MS Office.
Ability to prioritise own workload, work independently and meet deadlines.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, education check.
