ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the senior leader of Market Data globally, this role will support the implementation and management of the market data governance framework.
Key duties include assisting with daily operations, managing market data vendors, and contributing to critical tasks across data capability and investment operations.
Strong stakeholder management is essential to ensure effective governance and achieve business goals.
This role acts as a conduit between the active internal investment management arm of the business and external stakeholders and vendors.
It will play a critical part in facilitating better commercial outcomes for the fund driving more robust investment performance through good governance and commercial vendor management, and best practice contract negotiation across the fund's multiple global locations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the senior global team leader with handling queries, renewing services, and preparing invoices for approval; Maintain vendor inventory, manage cost databases, and create reports on vendor usage and compliance to market data vendors; Help in addressing business market data needs including procurement tasks such as gathering requirements, reviewing contracts, and agreement execution and onboarding; Develop a global best practice market data vendor strategy and governance framework that reduces commercial and contractual risk; Support market data discussions across data capability on how to source data from third parties; Build and maintain strong, cooperative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Relevant tertiary qualifications in business systems, computer science, data science, commerce, or a relevant field are essential; 2-3+ years of demonstrated experience in a multi-market data vendor environment with a diverse range of commercial constructs or experience across an investment research function or organisation covering market data; Proven hands-on experience in leading the development of market data vendor and data governance within organisations (ideally investment management); Strong stakeholder management skills working in a change/project management environment; Highly organised, collaborative, self-driven and excellent attention to detail.
