MSA is a leading provider of survey, compliance, and consultancy services to the marine industry, helping our clients assess, construct, and operate their assets to the highest levels of safety and performance.We offer the following services:Periodic Survey & Initial SurveyPre Purchase Surveys Private and CommercialInsurance SurveysCondition and ValuationseCMID AuditsNaval Architectural ServicesCompass AdjustmentNew Build & Refit Project ManagementStability AssessmentsMaritime ConsultancySafety Management System AuditAbout the RoleAs a Naval Architect working with our Marine Survey team, you will ensure vessel integrity and inspections are conducted in accordance with correct standards and procedures to provide compliance, advice, and excellent service to our customers.
Your role is to complete periodic and initial surveys, and maritime consulting on Private and Domestic Commercial Vessels for the Australian Marine Industry.
The role is working from home and predominantly Monday to Friday; however, some outside hours as well as interstate travel may be required.
Flexible working arrangements are welcomed.A normal week for a MSA Surveyor may involve 2-3 days in the field and the rest of the time at home completing consulting work, plan approval, stability assessments, etc.
You will be supported by a team of Marine Surveyors offering technical advice, forums, weekly technical meetings, and solutions when required.
Training will be provided.About the PersonTechnically qualified as a Naval Architect.Ideally, hold accreditation from the Australian Maritime Safety Authority as a Domestic Commercial Vessel Surveyor with accreditation in the appropriate categories to complete Initial and Periodic Surveys.
If accreditation is not held, we are willing to put the right person through the internal and external training required to gain accreditation.Must hold Australian Citizenship or the required permission to work in Australia.Fluent in the English language.Knowledgeable in the relevant standards, practices, and toolsets.Understanding of the rules and regulations that apply to Domestic Commercial Vessels and commitment to customer service.Strong administration, communication, and technical report writing skills.Tech-savvy as Maritime Survey Australia is a paperless company.Must hold a current Australian driver's license.Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.What We OfferExciting and challenging work supported by a highly experienced team of surveyors.Relevant industry training and continued professional development.Work from home with flexible working hours.Employee Bonus scheme (after 4 years of continued service).Your application will include the following questions:How many years' experience do you have as a Marine Surveyor?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?How would you rate your English language skills?Do you have a current Australian driver's licence?Are you willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check?Have you completed a qualification in architecture?
