Work with a respected global organisationSupportive team environmentEmployee benefits including discounts and wellbeing programsMake an impact at Serco Join us as an Australian Supply Research Vessel (ASRV) Project Electrical Engineer, where you'll ensure shore-based operations and maintenance support are provided to the RSV Nuyina crew and Australian Antarctic Division as the customer.
You'll work closely with our ASRV Technical Superintendent and Engineering Manager to maintain and enhance our vessel's operations.
Your role will involve collaboration with various stakeholders, process development, and occasional travel to support Serco Defence locations.
As an Electrical Engineer, you'll make a positive impact by:
Working with the Technical Superintendent to efficiently and effectively implement the installation, refurbishment and commissioning activities associated with the ASRV vesselImplementing and applying Serco Safety, Environment, and Wellbeing SOPsOptimising maintenance strategies, plans, and schedulesIdentifying and managing critical spares and inventory levelsSupporting electrical procurement and conducting compliance auditsScheduling, monitoring, and achieving electrical engineering tasksLiaising with vessel Chief Engineer and ETO to develop, implement, maintain, and review the schedules and subsequent labour resourcing to achieve the required project outcomesProviding expert electrical engineering advice and timely reportsAnalysing data for system performance improvementsEnsuring compliance with all relevant regulationsSerco is a place for you You are a dedicated, technically skilled professional who thrives in dynamic environments and can manage complex electrical systems within the Maritime industry.

To be successful in this role you'll have:
Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of marine experience and/or an Electrical Technical Officer STCW Regulation III/6 that holds an Electrical Trade QualificationCurrent Driver's Licence and ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification CardProficient in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Systems EngineeringPhysically resilient, capable of working in confined spaces and at heightsIdeal Skills & Experience:
Certificate IV or Diploma in Project ManagementKnowledge of Class, SOLAS, and AMSA requirementsMembership in Engineers Institute of Australia or equivalentUnderstanding of AS3000 Electrical Wiring StandardsEligibility for AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 1 ClearancePlease note:
