About Port Hedland:
Port Hedland is a dynamic town in Western Australia's beautiful North West located approximately 1,800km north of Perth. Home to around 16,000 people from diverse cultural backgrounds, Port Hedland covers 11,844 square kilometres of the Pilbara region. Port Hedland has its roots in shipping and mining and with a lot of action taking place right in the centre of town, visitors and residents have the unique opportunity to witness the port's daily operations up close. The Port of Port Hedland is the world's largest export tonnage port, and handles iron ore and salt shipping, as well as other commodities.
The role:
The Marine & Offshore division in Australia is looking for a Marine Surveyor to be based in Port Hedland for a minimum period of 12 months. You will have the opportunity to work in a highly supportive and collaborative team environment and be exposed internationally to different cultures.
The job incumbent is responsible for conducting quality inspection of ships in service or construction to determine their conformity with specified requirements (BV rules, International Maritime Organisations, National Regulations, Standards IACS Requirements, etc) or to attest a given situation of a ship.
Your day to day will include but is not limited to:
Undertaking classification/certification and statutory surveys and inspections of ships-in-service according to rules and regulations
Carry out ISM/ISPS/MLC audits
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and ensure all survey/inspection reports (including survey certificates) are factual, objective and submitted within the stipulated format and timeframe
Keep up to date with new rules, regulations and technical information or process disseminated through internal communication
As an independent individual contributor, you would be expected to:
Maintain reporting and quality KPIs within specified turnaround time
Maintain and keep up level of technical competencies and qualifications
Ensure quality reporting output and customer satisfaction
What's needed?
To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:
Full NS qualification including Bulk Carrier Annual Survey
Qualified to conduct ISM/ISPS/MLC audits
Possess a valid driving license
Able to travel at short notice and accept short to mid-term overseas assignments as required

Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing and the ability to meet site inductions will be a requirement of working on site.
