Marine Superintendent - Class I Master Mariner or Technical Superintendent - Class I Marine Engineer - Full Time Position Ship's Master / Ship's Engineer/ Marine Superintendent / Technical Superintendent PROPEL MARINE PTY LTD $85,000 - $125,000 a year - Full-time, Permanent Location: Gladstone QLD, Mackay QLD, Townsville QLD, Newcastle NSW, Wollongong NSW, Adelaide SA, Port Hedland WA, Esperance WA and other regional Australian ports. About the role: Due to sustained growth and continued success, Propel Marine is seeking an experienced Master Mariner or Marine Engineer with a Class I Certificate of Competency to join our successful team and play a vital role in our expansion. You will be actively involved in field activities and participating within a team of experienced professionals. This opportunity is well suited to someone who has people-caring capability and is looking to be part of a team which is shaping processes and contributing to meeting and exceeding targets. There will be interstate and intrastate travel involved as demanded by the nature of the Marine industry and our company requirements. Our Head Office is based in Perth, WA and we are seeking the following roles for a full-time position in multiple locations in the following areas: Gladstone QLD, Mackay QLD, Townsville QLD, Newcastle NSW, Wollongong NSW, Adelaide SA, Port Hedland WA, Esperance WA and other regional Australian ports. About you: Working with a dynamic team dedicated to continuous improvement, your diversity of thought and practical experience will be embraced. You will be empowered to unlock higher performance to make a real difference to our business. • Class I Master Mariner or Class I Marine Engineer COC. • Minimum 2-3 years of sailing experience in the rank of Master Mariner or Chief Engineer is preferred. • Experience in Marine Surveying is essential. • Qualification to conduct Australian Grain cargo hold export inspection. • Authorised Officer on behalf of DAWE for Grain exports is preferred. • Conversant with local rules, regulations and terminal operations. • Be able to pass Medical/ Drug and alcohol tests. Job Activities: Marine surveys including but are not limited to the following: • Grain export inspections. • Technical repairs and consultancy. • Hold inspections. • Tanker quantity surveys and sampling. • On hire / Off hire bunker and condition surveys. • Flag State Inspections. • Quality surveys and audits. Job Activities: Marine surveys including but are not limited to the following: • Grain export inspections. • Vessel vetting. • Technical repairs and consultancy. • Hold inspections. • Attendance during Vessel Repairs / troubleshooting. • Draft surveys. • Cargo Trimming. • Tanker quantity surveys and sampling. • On hire / Off hire bunker and condition surveys. • Flag State Inspections. • Quality surveys and audits. • Container damage surveys. • Cargo sampling.
