About the Role
Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for a
Marine Pilot Loading Master
to join the ABU Marine Operations team. Reporting to Gorgon Marine Superintendent, this permanent role will be based in Chevron's Gorgon Gas Plant Barrow Island and/or Wheatstone Gas Plant Onslow on an attractive rotational roster.
Responsibilities will include, though not be limited to, the following:
Holding primary responsibility as the safety-critical Marine Pilot Loading Master, managing risk and safety in terminal operations while providing marine pilotage and loading master expertise to vessels for LNG and condensate cargos within the port.
Acting as the on-board Terminal Representative to coordinate all transfer operations between the export vessels and the terminal.
Managing the efficient use of the Tug and Pilot Boat/s, ensuring the safe transfer of personnel and equipment to/from vessels under pilotage in accordance with International & Chevron standards.
Ensuring that vessels comply with safe cargo loading and operating practices as per terminal regulations.
Monitoring the performance of Aids to Navigation.
Understanding vessel compatibility and clearance processes as part of loadmaster duties and identifying potential issues.
Compiling and/or reviewing procedures, operating manuals, checklists, and templates for terminal marine operations.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
Australian Master Unrestricted Certificate of Competency or equivalent.
Experience on LNG carriers/Oil tankers in senior capacity will be preferred.
Ship handling and/or marine pilotage skills will be preferred.
Knowledge of LNG/Oil shipboard operations.
Knowledge of relevant international, national, and state maritime regulations.
Experience in risk and safety management in terminal operations.
Experience working with various cultural backgrounds and professional disciplines and the ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
