About the opportunity Reporting to the Boat Building Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying coatings to a range of equipment and materials.
Your role will be critical in ensuring the success of our workshop operations.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Competent use of airless and conventional spray-painting systems Operating abrasive blast equipment to prepare surfaces for painting Applying 2-pack paints to ensure high-quality finishes Maintaining equipment, including completing pre-starts and equipment checklists Prepare surfaces for painting, including blasting and sanding.
Apply primers, fairing compounds, and fillers to ensure smooth surfaces.
Sand and finish surfaces to required standards.
Apply topcoats and ensure a high-quality finish.
Perform cleaning and prep work for painting stages.
Maintain work area and ensure proper handling of materials.
Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications Boat fairing and spray painting to a high end full fair luxury finish.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: Proven experience in Painting, ideally within a site or workshop environment.
Experience in painting and bogging aluminium boats for smooth finishes Competent in airless and conventional spray painting Experience with abrasive blast equipment and 2-pack paints Ability to maintain equipment and complete required checklists Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a team Desirable: Certificate III in Surface Preparation The ideal candidate will be available for a face-to-face interview and may need to complete pre-employment screening, including medical checks and working rights verification.
