As a key member of the management team reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Pro Dive Cairns Marine Operations Division based in Cairns.
This hands-on leadership role is responsible for the daily operations of vessel logistics, ensuring regulatory compliance and optimising the operational efficiency through effective rostering and recruitment activities.
Your key focus areas will include:
Operational Management: Day to day operational management to ensure optimal fleet utilisation, including coordinating all activities associated with planned maintenance activities and refits of vessels.Leadership: Lead a diverse team with varying skillsets to ensure smooth and efficient vessel operations providing clear directions, guidance and support to achieve operational excellence in alignment with Pro Dive Cairns goals and standards.Financial Management: Work closely with the General Manager to develop and manage operational budgets, forecasts and cost control measures and identify risks or opportunities to ensure continued financial sustainability.Safety Management: Oversee Vessel Safety Management Systems and ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies and industry standards. Coordinate safety inspections, risk assessments and training to promote a culture of safety among staff.Initiative: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance productivity. Foster a culture of innovation, safety and creativity within the operations team.Required skills and capabilities to be on the forefront for this opportunity: Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.Working knowledge of marine legislation and compliance.Current Drivers Licence.USL Master Class 5 skippers ticket or higher.PADI Divemaster qualification or higher.Marine Engine Driver (MED) II ticket or similar.To be considered for this role, applicants must provide a cover letter and CV.
