If you are confident, enjoy interacting with people with a view to helping them gain a greater understanding of what safe operating procedures means and then providing guidance to them so that they can manage their safety obligations then you're strongly encouraged to apply.We are seeking a Marine Officer Grade 2 (MO2) to join our Waterway Operations Townsville team.As an MO2 you will contribute to various activities including participating in oil pollution emergencies inter and intrastate, and undertake other travel required as part of a multifunctional team.Also, Marine Officers work outside standard operating hours and on some weekends to conduct education and compliance operations and monitor marine activity.Some of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:• Ensure maintenance and operational procedures are current and consistently applied• Ensure maintenance of operational plant, vessels, equipment, including pollution response equipment• Participate in the development /review and observance of Safety Management Systems and procedures• Undertake a range of intelligence, investigative, project management and delivery activities• Perform activities such as monitoring safety of vessels and assisting and leading aspects of the investigation process• Participate in marine education and behavioural change initiativesFor more information on the full list of responsibilities, requirements of the role and how to apply for this exciting opportunity please read the Role Description.We strongly encourage applicants from all life experiences and backgrounds to apply.Please tell us about any additional support or adjustments, such as interpreting services, physical requirements, or assistive technologies, that will better enable you to shine during the recruitment process.Should you have any questions regarding this role please contact Max Haste on 07 4421 8102.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
