About the Role We are seeking a Marine Engineer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. During our season which runs from April to November, this role will be based predominantly at our pontoon complex in Talbot Bay working on a rotational roster. During the off-season, this role will be based predominantly in Broome. This role reports to the Marine Maintenance Manager and assists in the maintenance and upkeep of all Horizontal Falls marine assets including but not limited to vessels, pontoons, and barges. Key responsibilities include: Performing routine maintenance and repairs on marine vessels and assets to ensure their continuous and reliable operation Conducting inspections, troubleshooting issues, and diagnosing any problems that may arise in vessels mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Assisting in major repairs and overhauls, collaborating with contractors and suppliers as necessary Playing an active role in implementing preventative maintenance programs to maximise vessel performance and minimise downtime Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities through a digital asset management system, including logs, reports and documentation of all work performed Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards and procedures governing marine maintenance and safety in addition to adherence with Company SOPs and operational procedures Completion of ad hoc maintenance tasks and repairs under the guidance of the Marine Maintenance Manager About You As the ideal candidate you have an eye for detail and take pride in your work. You are a team player, while also able to work autonomously using your initiative and demonstrated problem-solving skills. You will have a proactive and solutions-focused approach with a 'can-do' attitude to achieve the best outcome for business operations.
