CLA are contracted long term to dredge in Moreton Bay and have a multi-purpose vessel equipped with world-class dredging equipment. This project is alongside other CLA operations.
We are currently seeking experienced personnel to join our marine operation in Brisbane. Responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable dredging and unloading of product on our vessel, the successful candidates will work well in a team environment, have good communication skills, and be able to manage competing or changing priorities. With a hands-on attitude to their work, all team members will consider the project requirements when fulfilling their role and work together to achieve these. DECKHAND / EXCAVATOR OPERATOR POSITION Marine ticket (preferred)Valid AMSA Certificate of Medical FitnessSenior First Aid CertificateMSIC or the ability to obtain an MSICHold a relevant Excavator ticket or VOCHave previous experience operating a minimum 30T ExcavatorAbout the role CLA requires an experienced Deckhand with excavator operating experience to facilitate vessel loading/trimming and operational needs specific to this project. The project is long-term. This is a Brisbane-based role on a rotating roster of 5 days on, 4 days off (no FIFO opportunity).
Position Duties Maintaining a strong healthy attitude towards safe work practicesOperating Caterpillar 30T Excavator for cargo trimmingCompleting general/standard machine maintenance as instructedPossessing a sound knowledge and ability around conducting machinery pre-startsCarrying out all tasks in accordance with company-based policy and proceduresFulfilling obligations under the vessel Safety Management SystemMARINE ENGINE DRIVER GRADE 1 or 2 NC Marine Engine Driver 1 or 2 (MED 1 or 2) or higher with trade background (preferred)Willing to undertake one-on-one job-specific training with Chief Engineer where necessaryValid AMSA Certificate of Medical FitnessSenior First Aid CertificateMSIC or the ability to obtain an MSICAbout the role CLA requires an experienced Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 or 2 NC to facilitate vessel maintenance and operational needs specific to this project. The project is long-term. This is a Brisbane-based role on a rotating fortnightly roster (no FIFO opportunity).
The successful candidates will undertake daily dredging operations from Moreton Bay and unloading alongside a berth in Brisbane River; thus, it is advantageous if the applicant has previous dredging experience or similar.
