About The Role We are seeking an MED 2 to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. During our season which runs from March to November, this role is based at our pontoon complex in Talbot Bay working on a rotational roster. During the off-season, this role is based in Broome. This role assists in the maintenance and upkeep of all Horizontal Falls marine assets including but not limited to vessels, pontoons, and barges.
Key responsibilities will include: Performing routine maintenance and repairs on marine vessels and assets to ensure their continuous and reliable operation Conducting inspections, troubleshooting issues, and diagnosing any problems that may arise in vessels mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Assisting in major repairs and overhauls, collaborating with contractors and suppliers as necessary Playing an active role in implementing preventative maintenance programs to maximise vessel performance and minimise downtime Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities through a digital asset management system (Helm), including logs, reports and documentation of all work performed Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards and procedures governing marine maintenance and safety in addition to adherence with Company SOPs and operational procedures Completion of ad hoc maintenance tasks and repairs under the guidance of Marine Management About You As the ideal candidate you have an eye for detail and take pride in your work. You are a team player, while also able to work autonomously using your initiative and demonstrated problem solving skills. You will have a proactive and solutions focused approach with a 'can-do' attitude to achieve the best outcome for business operations.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Experience as a Marine Engineer preferably in the marine tourism industry An AMSA issued MED 2 A valid First Aid & CPR certificate (remote first aid desirable) Coxswain ticket as a minimum (highly desirable) Fire prevention onboard ships or STCW (desirable) Successful candidates are required to provide a current National Police Clearance.
