The original East Village shop gained a devoted following in the early '90s, and MARIA TASH continues to expand globally across the US, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.
KNOW THE ROLE As the assistant store manager, you will share the responsibility for the overall performance of the store and assist store management with generating sales potential, recruiting and developing staff, maintaining store appearance, and controlling expenses and shortages.
People Management Work with floor supervisor to train and communicate current product knowledge to all associates to ensure the team is fully educated on the brand and seasonal strategy by partnering with the appropriate internal DTC teams for product support.
Assist the store manager in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining best-in-class talent.
Contribute to a positive atmosphere that is fun, professional, productive, and team-oriented by providing clear feedback and regular coaching.
Assist the store manager with scheduling, time, and attendance with a view to accurate payroll processing.
Assist store manager in organizing store approval and inductions with Brown Thomas management.
Ensure Brown Thomas has up-to-date staffing details as required for security and health and safety procedures.
Sales Duties Preparation and execution of any events in the store in partnership with management and marketing.
Knowledge and improvement of key KPIs for the store.
Responsible for knowing clientele and improving customer retention.
Ensure that client information is entered properly and that client records are accurately maintained.
Work with the management team to regularly update staff on business performance and new initiatives.
Operational Duties Monitor stock inventory levels and communicate stock needs to management.
Ensure the stylist team is taking actions to maintain an excellent level of cleanliness, facilities, and store maintenance.
Receive, check in, and distribute stock that arrives.
Ensure safe and secure storage of all data, particularly client and staff data held in store.
Work with the store manager to analyze results, identify opportunities, and assist in making decisions in collaboration with the leadership team to drive key performance indicators (KPIs).
Assist with ensuring hallmarking meets local requirements.
Assist with management of cleaning and clinical waste removal.
Customer Service Ensure that stylists are maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Understand piercing healing times, positioning, and fitting, ensuring that advice is taken from the piercing team and understood and communicated by the selling team.
Responsible for resolving escalated customer service issues.
Be a representative of Maria Tash in and out of the store and provide a high level of customer service as a manager.
Accurately process all POS transactions, capture customer information, and manage inventory functions such as receiving shipments, transfers, repairs, and damages to maintain inventory integrity.
Ensure that the sales team can direct clients to pricing lists using i Pads, as required by local legislation.
KNOW WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 2+ years of retail management experience (luxury a plus).
Ability to be solution-focused.
An understanding of clienteling.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, management, and co-workers.
Ability to maneuver around the sales floor and stock rooms.
Ability to stand, move, and walk for multiple hours.
Lifts up to 30 pounds and moderate climbing required.
