Our mission is to help more people to hear.The OpportunityCochlear is looking for a Manufacturing Team Leader to ensure the smooth transition of new products into manufacturing.
This role is responsible for leading and developing a team to ensure production schedules are adhered to in a safe, efficient, and timely manner, in alignment with the Quality Management System.
The Team Leader will also be supporting accurate feedback to Process Engineering, updated training plans and alignment of Team Member expectations.This is a permanent full time role based in Cochlear's Macquarie University and Lane Cove sites.Your responsibilities will include…Developing positive behaviour in the team by role-modelling behavioural competencies, policies and standards required of employees, and recognising positive behaviour and correcting unsatisfactory behaviour of team members.Overseeing quality of production throughput and organise the resolution of quality-related issues.Planning and organising work for the team members to execute the plan in the most efficient manner through the effective use of standard CMS processes:i.e.
Kanban, First in First Out (FiFO), Rotation Plans, Shift Start-up/Shutdown, Production Daily Time Record, Exercise & Lateness tracking.Ensuring inventory accuracy and traceability is always maintained within the manufacturing operations.Conducting workplace safety observations and participate in the development of appropriate risk controls for hazards identified.About You:Lean manufacturing culture leader, excited to be a problem solver and waste eliminator.Digital computer systems familiarity and general business acumen including presentation skills (Teams, Riskcloud, Outlook, Oracle ERP, Dashboards, Powerpoint, Excel, Word).Confidently communicate in a verbal or written way, in 1:1 or small and large group scenarios.
Deliver clear messaging and influence outcomes via coaching and motivating.Able to prioritise and deliver Business needs, can explain the why to engage the team or business.Must be able to work in both Cochlear's sites: Macquarie University and Lane Cove.Must be able to work in either shifts: AM (6am-2pm) and PM (2pm-10pm).Developmental Value of the role:This role presents the opportunity to work across organisational boundaries and visibility with leadership team.
The team leader will be exposed to ERP and IT tools as well as working with multi-disciplined teams within Manufacturing such as Engineering, Maintenance and Calibration, Procurement and other shared services.
