This is a standalone position that will report directly to the Managing Director. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process and the ability to solve problems and ensure high levels of quality and efficiency.Selecting new suppliers to reduce delivery times and/or increase profitabilityChecking costing from suppliers on past ordersChecking costing of manufactured items to ensure profitability is maintainedAdjusting the sell prices according to BOM costings, as requiredOrdering parts for BOM orders as required and in appropriate time frames for successful deliveryStrong mechanical or engineering background within a manufacturing environmentHands-on experience with manufacturing processes and Bill of Materials ManagementStrong problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent communication skills and a proactive approach to management of workloadAbout you:A degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field or previous experience in a manufacturing or production planning role, with a focus on BOMs and materials management is desirable.You will bring demonstrated success and enthusiasm in providing exceptional manufacturing experience to ensure a quality product for our customers.The successful candidate must demonstrate –Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsStrong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teamsStrong presentation skills and professional appearanceExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailWillingness to be flexible and adaptableKnowledge of inventory management and material sourcingAdditionally, you will be;Experienced in valve manufacturing or related industries is a plusThe ability to perform routine and non-routine tasks with an eye for small details and a high degree of accuracyThe ability to work independently and exercise initiative within the appropriate scope of the roleA work ethic which includes a willingness to learn and undertake professional development activities including on-the-job training and training with professional associationsEvidence and experience using a range of computing software, including databases and MS Office applicationsGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to juggle competing demands, ensuring that deadlines are metAbility to work cooperatively and respectfully with others from various backgrounds and culturesFoster a trusting, inclusive and mutually supportive environment and treat each individual with dignity, integrity, and respectContribute to a culture that promotes the safety and well-being of all employeesJohn Valves values our team, and you will become part of our working family.
