This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Pyrmont, Sydney. There are approximately 200 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 300 staff by end of 2026.
About the role The Manufacturing Planner is responsible for the planning of manufacturing orders and allocation of equipment. This role is crucial for the successful and timely delivery of sales orders.
A key component of the role is the coordination between different departments of Operations as well as other areas of the business.
The Manufacturing Planner will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Manage the allocation of equipment for sales orders and product demonstrations, ensuring timely availability and optimal utilization. Collaborate with sales teams to prioritize equipment needs, track inventory, and coordinate logistics to support successful client experience. Forecast demand by engaging with stakeholders to analyze sales forecasts and historical data accurately. Anticipating production needs for both in-house and outsourced products. Develop and maintain production schedules that balance in-house manufacturing capabilities with outsourced production to meet customer demand. Work closely with procurement, logistics, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment and seamless communication across both manufacturing approaches. Serve as the primary liaison for communicating all Bill of Materials deviations to manufacturing teams and contract manufacturers. Identify potential risks associated with outsourcing and in-house production and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of operations. Maintain data registers to ensure compliance with regulatory compliances. Oversee manufacturing equipment calibration and maintenance. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, specifically with complex products and fast-paced environments. Proven ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and best practices related to complex products. Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
