The position will play a key part in supporting production related issues associated with the manufacture of Sonar related naval products working within the Acoustics Centre of Excellence.
Reporting to the Acoustics Centre of Excellence, Manufacturing Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Coordination of design, procurement and manufacture of new production jigs, tools and equipment on time, to budget and in accordance with all appropriate quality & HSE requirements Define, implement, optimise and continuously improve manufacturing processes and documentation Partner, collaborate and influence production team to optimise production engineering and lean best practices Fault finding and resolving production problems to ensure they have minimal impact on delivery schedule, quality and costs Coordination of maintenance & calibration related activity for process and line equipment Coordination of documentation to support production assembly processes, concessions, safe operating procedures including product release reports for delivery of conforming product. Your Skills: Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering degree and previous experience in a Manufacturing relevant field Sound knowledge and skills in lean manufacturing, automation, manufacturing processes and continuous improvement Results focused and ability to manage a number of parallel activities and product lines Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work closely with others Some level of experience with CAD, with competence in technical drawings High level of capability to review manufacturing data to review datasets to steer decisions and usage of SPC Experience with AutoCAD, and usage of 3D printers advantageous.
