DroneShield (ASX:DRO) offers an opportunity to solve some of world's most challenging technical problems in the Electronic Warfare, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, RF sensing, Sensor Fusion and distributed systems. With an approximately $1bn market capitalisation and having raised approximately $250m in 2024 alone, DroneShield is undergoing hypergrowth stage, fuelled by rapidly increasing use of drones for nefarious applications, from battlefield, to terrorism, to contraband delivery and commercial espionage.
This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Pyrmont, Sydney. There are approximately 160 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 300 staff by end of 2026. Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.
About the role DroneShield is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with relevant experience to join the team in Sydney, NSW. The position will report to the VP Design. This role will be responsible for the design and development of manufacturing test systems and rigs for DroneShield products. The rigs this engineer develops will be used for product testing on the DroneShield production floor and by contract manufacturers.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Develop production test rigs that increase production speed, accuracy and test coverageWork closely with other teams to understand product testing requirements and interfacesDevelop system requirements and tests to validate those requirementsManage project plans and timelines to keep development on trackDocument designs to ensure test rigs can be scaled and maintainedCommunicate with test equipment vendors to obtain quotes, support and technical informationQualifications, Experience and Skills Degree in Software Development, Engineering or relevant experience requiredExperience developing manufacturing systems and rigs requiredExperienced in Python requiredExperience unit testing and use of CI/CD pipelines favourableSolidWorks experience favourable (to develop rigs that interact with devices under test physically as well as digitally)Experience in LabVIEW favourableUnderstanding of RF and experience with RF test equipment favourableSuitable to hold a security clearance if required #J-18808-Ljbffr
