Location: Poole (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays), Wimborne (Mondays), Wareham (Tuesdays) and Swanage (Fridays)Purpose: Nail cutting is one of those things we often take for granted, but for many older people it becomes increasingly difficult to manage, leading to painful feet and contributing to problems with mobility, falls and eventually isolation. The Manicure/Nail Cutting Volunteer must be a minimum of 18 years old and should possess their own insurance, and have the necessary qualifications (NVQ level 2 minimum) to carry out the relevant treatment.Key duties and responsibilities Delivering manicures and/or pedicures competently, safely & appropriately, whilst being aware of contra-indications or precautions and adapting treatments accordingly.Observe and give feedback to the team leader on the patients' emotional and physical progress, wellbeing or deterioration.Respect the confidentiality of information held in relation to patients, past or present, volunteers and staff of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care.Maintain good relationships with patients and their families, and with volunteers, staff and visitors.Abide by the Health and Safety policies of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care.You will be provided with uniform (polo shirt) and will be issued with an identification badge, which is to be worn at all timesNote: An enhanced Disclosure & Barring check will be required for this volunteer role.

Patient care – (personal requirements and assistance)Assisting with medicationDiscuss patients personal details/information on the telephone or in personTraining Mandatory training will be delivered at a Volunteers Induction & Training Day which will cover all mandatory modules. Volunteer Induction Days will be held regularly and all volunteers are encouraged to attend one of these sessions.
Additional online training may be required for this role. You will receive guidance and training from a member of the Clinical team.
