But you have choice in where and how you work; we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.What you'd be doing in this roleLead a cross-functional team to evolve the frontend core libraries that underpin the frontend architecture and experience.Design the technical and product roadmap for the team in collaboration with stakeholders.Work with engineering leadership and product foundations teams to design a technical vision for the team.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure seamless integration of frontend libraries.Ensure the team is happy, healthy, high-functioning, and impactful.Conduct regular 1:1s to provide technical direction, mentorship, and actionable feedback.Develop growth plans for engineers on the team.Set priorities and support coachees with execution.Refine team processes to ensure effective and sustainable delivery.You're probably a match if you haveExperience collaborating with other engineering teams to build great solutions.Strong understanding of first and third party libraries in a large scale organisation.Experience advocating for goals in a compelling roadmap and vision.Experience developing rich web applications, ideally using Typescript / React / MobX.Demonstrated experience leading technical teams from a management or mentoring perspective.Extensive experience with frontend build tools (Webpack, Rollup, Babel).Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Enzyme, Cypress).Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques.Experience in developing and maintaining frontend libraries / frameworks.Practical knowledge of data structures and algorithms.About the teamThe Frontend Core Libraries team is dedicated to empowering Canva's 600+ frontend developers by maintaining and enhancing our essential libraries like React and MobX.
