About the role: The ODPP seeks criminal lawyers with excellent people and criminal law skills. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced criminal lawyers with leadership skills to take the next step in their career.
Managing Solicitors are required to lead, coordinate and manage the operations and resources of their team of solicitors and support staff to ensure the effective delivery of criminal prosecution services to the NSW Courts.
As a Managing Solicitor you will:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant law and procedures to conduct and deliver effective prosecutions and provide high level advice on complex and sensitive legal issues.
Identify and promote initiatives designed to improve systems and work practices in a dynamic legal environment.
Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Exercise legal, financial and administrative delegations to ensure the efficient management of the team or office.
Current vacancies are in Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle. A talent pool will also be created to fill statewide vacancies which may arise over the next 18 months. Please keep this in mind when submitting your location preferences.
About you: This position requires a degree or diploma in Law and admission as an Australian legal practitioner.
Applicants must be eligible for a Practising Certificate and must have one issued or approved by the Law Society of NSW prior to commencement in the role.
Applicants must also have a current driver's licence to work at a regional office.
