Make a vital contribution to Victoria's road projectsHybrid working environment12 month fixed term (parental leave backfill), $182,813 – $248,629 super & benefits.Join us in building better connections for Victoria by: Providing high quality and pragmatic legal advice across a broad range of legal areas, including matters relating to project development, procurement, delivery, contracting, legislation, interfaces, probity, land planning and environment, compliance and regulatory issues.Leading, mentoring, and guiding employees within the legal team and undertake people management responsibilities as required.Managing all day-to-day legal aspects for the MRPV projects or other matters allocated to the Managing Principal Lawyer.Contributing to procurement and contract management tools, standard forms and briefing documents.As a Managing Principal Lawyer, you will provide expert legal advice by leading, managing and coordinating legal aspects of Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) projects or other matters.
In addition, this role will provide expert legal and commercial guidance whilst engaging with and influencing senior decision makers.
This Managing Principal Lawyer will lead the legal services for a portfolio of road projects across Victoria, managing internal and external legal resources for those projects.
You will be a core member of dynamic, multi-disciplinary project teams, as well as being a senior leader in the close and supportive legal team.
About You. You are:
A construction, projects or infrastructure specialist, with extensive experience in contracting and delivery of large, complex projects.
Experience with collaborative contracting models preferred.A natural leader – you have experience in managing teams to achieve best project outcomes.
Experience in managing external legal advisors would be a bonus.A true collaborator – your expert communication skills and stakeholder management skills ensure a cohesive and collaborative approach in managing complex legal matters in a deadline-driven environment.Well-versed in managing project interfaces, contractual matters (including drafting and claims) and other complex legal matters throughout the development and delivery of infrastructure projects.This opportunity is a 12 month fixed term, backfilling a period of parental leave.
It will be a requirement to travel and spend time at one or all our site offices from time to time.
