About the Health, Safety and Wellness Department The Health, Safety and Wellness department is responsible for providing advisory services, strategic direction and planning for the workforce health, safety and wellness across all Austin Health campuses.
Key areas of responsibility include occupational health and safety management, injury recovery and return to work, workforce immunisation, safety and wellbeing education and training, and the wellbeing program.
About the role The Manager, Workforce Injury & Recovery is a key senior leadership position responsible for the continuous improvement of an efficient claims and injury management service across all Austin Health workplaces.
A regular day will see you:
Building capability for our people leaders to support injured employees to remain in the workplace safely, and manage the safe return of injured employees to preinjury duties effectively;Ensuring injured employees receive the very best early intervention and injury management services;Working strategically with our workers compensation insurer to ensure a strategic and systematic approach to delivery of services;Ensuring Austin Health meets legislative compliance in workers compensation management and return to work practice.About you To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
Sound knowledge of the respective legislative frameworks and of contemporary workforce injury management practice;Highly developed analytical, technical and innovative problem-solving skills that result in value-add, pragmatic and effective solutions;Demonstrated relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities;Strong influencing and interpersonal skills, as well as high levels of initiative;Highly developed organisation skills including the ability to prioritise work, meet strict deadlines, and review potential risk areas;Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience interacting with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
