Armidale is a vibrant and diverse regional city located in the heart of the New England region of New South Wales. The region is known for its stunning natural beauty, including national parks, waterfalls and gorges, as well as its rich agricultural heritage.
Armidale Regional Council is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join the team as the Manager Transport. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient and effective management of the Council's transport objectives. The position reports to the Chief Officer – Assets and Services and is responsible for skillfully organising, managing and executing all road and drainage operations, as well as maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities
· Full responsibility for the management and delivery of the Council's road operation and maintenance programs from project inception to completion.
· Involvement in asset management, including planning and coordinating maintenance requirements based on asset lifecycles.
· Provide strong leadership to the Transport Services team including supporting staff in learning and development.
· Deliver high-level communication to all stakeholders in an accurate and timely manner.
· Drive innovation and change to provide exceptional service outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
· A tertiary qualification in Engineering (or similar discipline), or substantial relevant working history in lieu.
· An advanced proficiency in verbal and written communication.
· Demonstrated ability to foster strong working relationships.
