Our flexible work environment allows you to be your best every day and contribute to the big picture.Responsibilities:Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports to deliver exceptional payroll services to WorkCover Queensland employees, CEO, and Board.Effectively contribute to the Financial Control and Reporting team's strategic and operational planning.Manage the Transactional Services and Payroll team in the delivery of the approved business plan.Responsible for leading the day-to-day work activities in Transactional Services and Payroll.Accountable for the fortnightly delivery of pays to all WorkCover employees (approximately 1300).Identify workforce trends with respect to remuneration and benefits.Work collaboratively with other team members to create workplace improvements or solutions.Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure legislative and award compliance.A bit about you:Tertiary qualifications in accounting or similar business degree — CA or CPA qualified.Strong experience in a finance-related role, with experience in payroll.Exceptional leadership skills and a passion for managing people.Demonstrated understanding of accounting and financial systems and software (TechOne experience highly regarded).Highly developed knowledge of payroll, accounting, auditing, and other relevant financial practices and procedures.A bit about us:Working in a collaborative team environment within a supportive and engaged organisation, you'll enjoy a hybrid work model, access to personalised learning and development opportunities, and the holistic support of our health and wellbeing program.
