Primary objective: Manage and facilitate strategic agribusiness trade and market development activities and projects with a Territory wide delivery focus.
Key duties and responsibilities: Facilitate and provide evidenced-based market and export analysis and advice of agricultural commodities to identify market opportunities, competitive advantage and overcome production and supply chain challenges.Effectively collaborate and manage relationships with local and international culturally diverse trade partners and stakeholders across government and industry.Provide high-level project management and coordination of trade and market development related projects and programs.Identify and manage external funding initiatives, opportunities, and co-operative partnerships to leverage and deliver projects and programs within the department's strategic framework.Prepare high-level written reports, Ministerial briefings, Cabinet submissions, speeches, reports and presentations.Selection criteria: Essential: Extensive working knowledge of the Northern Territory agricultural industry, the supply chains, key markets, challenges and potential opportunities to support export growth.Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to provide high-level strategic critical analysis and to deliver concise, relevant and timely written reports and briefings for senior executive and Ministerial level.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, show initiative with a proven ability to manage and lead in an environment of competing deadlines, agendas and changing priorities.Extensive senior level expertise and proven record of achievement in project management required to develop and implement new programs, initiatives, schemes or policy.Proven track record in identifying external funding opportunities, negotiating and leveraging co-operative partnerships and contract management to deliver projects and programs.Highly developed consultation and interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage complex relationships and sensitive issues, and an astuteness in interpreting and managing the social, geo-political and organisational environments.High-level of integrity and professionalism with the ability to establish and maintain an extensive network of contacts and a demonstrated ability to work within, and interact effectively with, people from diverse cultures.Desirable: Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in international trade, agriculture, horticulture or related field and a broad understanding of the public sector framework.Sound working knowledge of the Asia environment and culture as a potential trade partner.Further information: Domestic and international travel may be required to support delegations and conduct market assessments and development.Refer to the NTPS Capability Leadership Framework Level 8. #J-18808-Ljbffr
