We are seeking an experienced manager to join us in a strategic Line 1 risk role, who will inspire, engage and lead a team of project risk specialists whilst improving risk culture and capability, and working with Line 2 risk as we progressively mature our risk management practices.
As part of this, you'll coordinate the sourcing, allocation and utilisation of a pool of technology risk specialists to meet project demands, ensuring quality and consistency in risk management throughout the project lifecycle and facilitating and coordinating risk specialists as they work with projects to ensure that risks are not just identified, but effectively addressed and monitored.
This newly created role will be responsible for leading continuous improvement of the Bank's risk in change management practices, collaborating with other Risk Managers (Line 1 and Line 2) and working within the Bank's Risk and Compliance Management Framework, to ensure we stay ahead in an ever-evolving risk landscape.
The position will involve substantial liaison across the IT department, with project teams, and with other departments in the Bank (e.g.
Enterprise Risk and Compliance).
As Manager, Technology Project Risk you will: Provide subject matter expertise, coaching, training and/or guidance to support project teams and the IT Department to implement (meet) targeted uplift in risk management practices.Ensure business operations and risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, standards, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and risk appetite of the RBA.Provide risk expertise to in the identification and assessment of risks to achieve business objectives.Manage a team of risk professionals, guiding and developing them to achieve area outcomes.Partner with stakeholders across the business to uplift capability and identify and enable more efficient and effective risk practices.Contribute to a community of practice to share best practice and, as necessary, allocate resource to areas of highest need.Work collaboratively with our Enterprise Risk and Compliance Team (Line 2) and Internal Audit to provide integrated assurance to the Board and Board Audit & Risk Committee.Support the business to prepare papers for relevant Board and Management Committee meetings. Your Background 10 years + experience in a Line 1 or Line 2 risk and compliance role (with 3 years + in people management), preferably within banking or financial services.Demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert (specifically technology risk in change), supporting the learning and development of business stakeholders.Experience in design, build and implementation of risk and compliance frameworks, coaching and training.Understanding of Bank-wide (or similar organisation) risk and compliance management frameworks, policies and standards.Demonstrated experienced as a people leader, supporting the learning and development of a team of risk professionals.Relevant tertiary qualifications in technology, economics, finance, risk, compliance or related discipline, or equivalent experience.Demonstrated negotiation and resolution management skills.Strong stakeholder management skills, including ability to influence senior stakeholders.
