Job Summary: The Manager, Technical services will take a lead role in guiding strategic and business decisions relating to communications and biomedical technologies which support the delivery of state-wide ambulance services. The incumbent will manage a team of specialist technicians responsible for the implementation of new technologies and maintenance of existing infrastructure state-wide.
The incumbent is responsible for the life cycle management of approximately $15 million worth of communication and biomedical equipment and provides strategic advice to the General Manager, Critical Systems in relation to new equipment and ongoing operation support.

Access to a range of staff and wellness support programs!Key Responsibilities: Provide effective leadership and management of the Technical Services department, fostering a customer-focused, professional, and responsive team culture aligned with SA Health's values.Oversee the strategic planning, resource allocation, and budget management for the department, ensuring efficient utilization of human, financial, and physical assets to achieve business objectives.Develop and implement a comprehensive Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in conjunction with the General Manager – Critical Systems to facilitate ongoing service provision and disaster recovery.Monitor and analyse the performance of communication and biomedical systems, identify opportunities for enhancements, evaluate new technologies, and lead technological change initiatives to maintain compliance and support strategic objectives.Manage the administration of the department, including policy and procedure development, project scheduling, stakeholder liaison, risk management, and contract negotiation with external suppliers and contractors.Ensure effective asset management, including maintaining adequate stock levels for communication and biomedical equipment, implementing asset database management systems, and overseeing break-fix management processes.Application Information: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply for this role.The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working including part-time.
