Student Services, Other (Education & Training)
Fixed term, full-time appointment (to January 2026)
Level 6/7: $88,865 - $110,039 + 17% Superannuation The Manager, Student Residence (MSR) is responsible for providing management support and leadership to their relevant residential community. The MSR will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the site including managing an administration team and Resident Ambassadors. No two days will be the same in this dynamic environment; the MSR will be required to liaise with internal stakeholders such as UOW Support Services, Security, and Facilities Management, along with managing student conduct and any other operational matters that arise.
This position is integral to the 24-hour, 7 day per week support and response service the Division provides to residents. Therefore, the MSR may sometimes be contacted outside of standard business hours through an "on-call" roster to provide advice or to attend a residence with appropriate payment/time in lieu, as agreed.
We are looking for a community and culture builder, with the ability to build connections and positively influence the student experience in residence through a strong customer service ethos. With your team, you will implement programs and activities that foster academic success, unique cultural and social experiences, and a focus on wellbeing and pastoral care.
The MSR needs to display resilience and have the ability to lead misconduct proceedings including investigations. They need to manage complex student needs and critical incident response with the support of the appropriate specialist UOW services.
You will be a fun, creative, and passionate leader with experience in managing operations within a policy-driven environment. Experience in managing a facility, operation, and/or team is essential, and exposure to emergency situations, working with people who have experienced trauma or mental health issues would be beneficial.
