Salary to be negotiated (dependent on skills and experience) A new opportunity has arisen for a Manager Sports and Recreation to successfully lead the City of Mitcham's sports and recreation services.
The Role Reporting to and working closely with the General Manager Development Services and Community Safety, the Manager Sports and Recreation will lead the Sports and Recreation team ensuring effective engagement with the community and relevant stakeholders to deliver sport and recreation outcomes in the community.
With a key focus on strategic leadership, you will drive change and build a positive and productive work environment. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing direction and ensuring alignment with organisational goals, objectives and Council plans while building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
About You To be successful in this role you will have:
A tertiary qualification in a relevant industry or equivalent experience (e.g. sports medicine, sports and recreation management/planning); Demonstrated experience in supervising and leading projects, stakeholders, staff and contractors to achieve outcomes; Experience developing, communicating and delivering sustainable strategic and operational plans or projects; Experience in successfully leading teams and setting strategic direction at a team or organisational wide level; Experience in the provision of quality customer service for diverse community needs; High level analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills, with an ability to explore new and innovative ways to do business.
