About the team
Established in 2017, the DISR Shared Services Hub delivers Aurion-based payroll services to 13 Australian Government agencies, and finance system administration services to 4 agencies using TechOne. The Hub's reputation for delivering high quality and value for money payroll services is driving its expansion, and it is currently onboarding a further 2 agencies to its payroll service, with further growth expected.
The opportunity
In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver payroll services for a wide range of government agencies. You will also be involved in whole of government initiatives related to shared services.
As the Hub expands it is reviewing its operating model to ensure that it is structured to best deliver on our service offer for our clients, efficiently transition new clients into the Hub, and build capability pathways for staff.

Our ideal candidate
We are seeking a motivated person who is passionate about payroll delivery, the implementation of workplace conditions and building staff capability in a shared service environment.
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Experience in payroll delivery or complex payroll matters (such as Remuneration Tribunal)
Experience in assurance activities or project management.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration and building partnerships across teams and client agencies.
Proven leadership of high performing teams including remote and/or hybrid teams with a focus on capability uplift.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong judgement, and the ability to understand when to escalate complex issues.
Flexibility, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
What you will do
Executive Level 2 Managers perform a range of functions. The responsibilities may include:
Leading the strategy and execution of shared services projects, including onboarding new client agencies to the Shared Services Hub.
Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
Managing payroll delivery across teams in a Shared Services environment.
Facilitating inter-agency collaboration.
Collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and service delivery enhancements.
Leading and managing the delivery of internal and external audit activities.
Leading and managing the delivery of a robust assurance program over the services.
Monitoring industry trends and best practices to continuously improve service offerings and outcome reporting.
Managing shared services financial matters, including budgeting, forecasting and the ongoing improvement of the shared services costing model.
Identifying, advising on, and managing risk.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.

A merit pool may be established and used to fill future vacancies within 18 months from the date the vacancy was first advertised in the Gazette.
The department does currently offer flexible work opportunities for many roles. This vacancy is ACT - Industry House based, although flexible or remote work arrangements may be considered. Please reach out to the contact officer to discuss this further.
