Working in close partnership with business units, you establish and maintain safety and wellbeing processes, standards, frameworks, and systems that ensure we meet both statutory obligations and our broader business goals.
Your role will be pivotal in fostering a positive workplace culture where employee safety and wellbeing are at the forefront. By providing expert people services and support, you will play a key role in preventing harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste, directly supporting EPA's strategic priorities.
In this role you will: Manage and empower the Safety and Wellbeing function to achieve excellence in performance, accountability, and collaboration. You'll foster a positive team culture, oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and project planning, while supporting staff development and driving ethical and transparent decision-making.As a key member of the people and culture leadership team, you'll contribute to the strategic direction of the People and Culture Branch. Lead initiatives that build a high-performing, outcome-driven workforce focused on safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.Provide strategic and operational advice on the mitigation of risks to health, safety, and wellbeing. Your expertise will influence policy, practice, and initiatives that safeguard EPA staff and stakeholders.Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement our People Roadmap, which includes Safety and Wellbeing initiatives that reduce risks, build resilience, and promote a healthy, positive workplace aligned with statutory obligations.Skills and experience: A proven record of achievement in a senior management role leading a business unit through change to achieve high performance and a positive organisational culture.Demonstrated WHS experience working within a regulator is highly desirable.Demonstrated competence in implementing and continuously improving WHS management systems and programs that support a default safety-first culture in all contexts.Leadership experience in an enterprise-level safety and wellbeing capacity, preferably within Government or medium-sized service delivery organisations.Click the "Apply" button to submit your CV and cover letter addressing the key selection criteria.
