Department for Health and Wellbeing - Office of the Chief Psychiatrist - Safety and QualityMulticlass - Full Time / Ongoing appointment$121,107 to $125,679 - ASO8$114,314 to $124,449 - AHP4$132,177 to $137,771 - RN/M4Overview: For ASO8 and AHP4 : The Manager Safety and Quality is responsible for managing the development of a strategic Safety, Quality and Risk Management Framework and associated program of work to achieve SA Health, Mental Health Safety and Quality and Local Health Network strategic mental health priorities and the SA Health Care Plan.
In this context, the position takes strategic direction from the Chief Psychiatrist to promote the continuing improvement in the organisation and delivery of mental health services in SA.
Particular focus areas include leading and managing the achievement of high standards and implementation of quality improvement activity within a quality framework, ensuring consumer rights, managing clinical risk, and coordinating serious incident processes to support integrated and safe consumer pathways.
The Manager Safety and Quality ensures the efficient and effective management of the team in providing and facilitating high-quality safe services for the community and the achievement and maintenance of best practice in the delivery of services.
The Manager Safety and Quality has strong working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to support the coordination, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of safety, quality and clinical risk management activities.
For RN/M4 : Provide support services to staff and services in areas including but not limited to staffing methodologies, recruitment and selection, human resource management, financial administration, resource management, accreditation and risk management processes and information systems management.

The Safety and Quality team:
Supports provision of high-quality safe services for the community.Has strong working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to support the coordination, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of safety, quality and clinical risk management activities.Takes strategic direction from the Chief Psychiatrist to promote the continuing improvement in the organisation and delivery of mental health services in SA.In consultation with stakeholders, is responsible for initiating and facilitating research and quality improvement activities to improve clinical practice and ensuring the effectiveness of the safety, quality and clinical risk management framework.Ensures the efficient and effective management of the team and contributes to the achievement and maintenance of best practice in the delivery of services.Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.
