Manager Safeguarding Policy and Practice - Risk and AssuranceManagement (Community Services & Development) Full timeSalary Packaging and Hybrid Work EnvironmentAbout the Role:We are seeking the Full-time Permanent placement of a Manager Safeguarding Policy and Practice - Risk and Assurance based in Blackburn, VIC.Purpose of the Role:To oversee safeguarding risk and assurance and lead the development of resources, training and compliance with The Salvation Army's Safeguarding Framework.To act as the portfolio lead for safeguarding risk inclusive of all TSA programs and environments.To strengthen the culture and practice of safeguarding throughout The Salvation Army.Key Roles and Responsibilities:Safeguarding Risk ManagementDevelopment of policy, tools and resources to ensure TSA's safeguarding implementation aligns with regulatory requirements to support the work of the broader Quality and Safeguarding Department.Support the embedding of safeguarding risk in key risk identification and management processes including risk assessments.Provide advice to leaders, including Personnel, Officers and Volunteers regarding the identification and mitigation of safeguarding risk to children, young people and vulnerable adults.Complex and Specialist Assurance ReviewsDevelop assurance processes to support policy, resources and practice that supports the implementation of the Safeguarding Framework.Advise, monitor and review specialist program/activity risks to ensure required safeguards are identified and implemented.Monitor effectiveness of safeguards and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Stakeholder EngagementEngagement with stakeholders at every level to ensure understanding and demonstrated support of TSA's Safeguarding Framework.Build and maintain strong and extensive connections to ensure that TSA is leveraging best practice in safeguarding practices.Teamwork and CollaborationParticipate in team activities, attend meetings and demonstrate a supportive approach to team cohesion.Work in collaboration with other members of the Safeguarding Team and broader Quality and Safeguarding Department to implement and embed a culture of safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.Education and Qualifications:Solid working knowledge of legislation and regulations related to children, young people and vulnerable adults.Proven experience in engaging with and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Degree in Social Work, Allied Health, Psychology or similar tertiary qualification.A qualification in audit/ quality assurance would be highly regarded.Experience as a clinician in aged care, disability or community services is highly regarded.Requirements for the role:National Police Check.A current and valid Working with Children Check or equivalent.Why work for Us:NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefits.Flexible working conditions.Paid parental leave.Financial, retail and lifestyle discounts and benefits.Employee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling service.Opportunity for career development.An inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team members.Positively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution.About UsThe Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities.
