Our Client – South Australian Government Financing Authority (SAFA)Perks People Solutions have partnered with the South Australian Government Financing Authority (SAFA) to recruit a Manager, Risk to join their Governance, Risk and Compliance team on an ongoing basis.SAFA is the central financing authority, captive insurer and manager of the passenger and light commercial fleet operations for the Government of South Australia.
It also provides extensive financial and commercial advisory services to the South Australian public sector.
SAFA plays an integral role in the overall management of the State Government's finances and risks, harnessing economies of scale and expertise in financial and insurance markets to provide a range of treasury, insurance, commercial advisory and vehicle fleet management services.The role:Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the role works collaboratively with all parts of SAFA's business to assist in the delivery of an efficient and effective risk management function.The Manager, Risk is responsible for establishing and managing an independent risk management function within SAFA's business to further strengthen SAFA's second line of defence.The role will also be responsible for the management, analysis and reporting of all SAFA's risks including its enterprise and operational-level risks, its credit exposures to financial and insurance counterparties and the assessment, management and reporting of operational risk events.About you: Extensive experience in building an organisational risk culture and strong knowledge of risk management principles and practices.Experience in establishing and managing an independent risk management function.Proven experience in developing and maintaining risk management plans and guidelines, risk mitigation strategies, risk appetite statements, enterprise wide and operational risk registers and key risk indicators.Demonstrated ability to provide training and education on risk identification, risk evaluation and risk treatment.Experience in implementing practical solutions to complex problems.High level of organisational skills, self-motivation and demonstrated capacity to deliver quality and accurate work within time based KPIs.Ability to develop sound working relationships, and to establish trust, rapport and confidence with work colleagues and stakeholders.High level ability to analyse problems and to develop and recommend innovative solutions, and exercising sound judgement to make effective decisions.Ability to work effectively in a team environment to contribute to the overall objectives of SAFA.Highly developed verbal, written and numeracy skills.Experience using a GRC system highly desirable.An understanding of and ability to work/manage to the spirit and principles of AS ISO 31000:2018 Risk management – Guidelines.In return:Flexible working optionsSalary packaging optionsDiscounted gym membershipSupportive career development opportunitiesEmployee Assistance Program for you and your familyBe Well ProgramRemuneration:ASO8: $121,107 to $125,679 FTE plus superannuation and employee benefits.Next Steps:If you're interested in the position on offer, please apply by submitting your CV and cover letter using the relevant links.Your cover letter (no more than 2 pages) should outline your experience and how it relates to the key requirements of the role.You will also need to complete the Pre-Employment Declaration form.To access this, along with the detailed PD and candidate pack, please visit: www.ppsconsulting.com.au/SAFAjobsApplications close at 5.00 pm on 11th December 2024.For more information, please contact Sally Warner from Perks People Solutions on or email #J-18808-Ljbffr
