Level 9, $130,104 - $136,267 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation Full-time, ongoing appointment The Opportunity Assuming a leadership role and reporting directly to the Director, Office of Research, you'll take the lead in administering research grants and contracted research projects. Your role will involve developing and implementing strategies, policies, and processes to ensure efficient and effective research grant administration services. As the go-to expert in research grant administration, you'll provide guidance to senior staff, researchers, and other professionals, serving as a central point of contact for external income research. Your responsibilities will encompass leading the development, implementation, and review of UniSC's research policies and procedures. This includes driving initiatives and service improvements, as well as contributing to the enhancement of UniSC's research information management system. Your pivotal role in research grant governance and services will help build research capacity and foster constructive change. Additionally, you'll play a key role in providing expert advice and support to grant applicants, managing major bid rounds and contract research opportunities, and ensuring effective communication internally and externally. This involves communicating funding opportunities, setting timelines for grant rounds, developing bids, negotiating contracts, and coordinating reporting for research income. For more information on the Office of Research, please visit us online: Office of Research You will: Take the lead in offering expert counsel on all facets of research funding; and drive UniSC's research funding initiatives, orchestrating major bids, leading a proficient team, and delivering comprehensive researcher training programs. About you: Your success in this role will centre on your ability to forge strong relationships and effectively engage with stakeholders both within the University and externally. With your postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and extensive professional experience in a university setting, you'll possess exemplary management skills to lead and support your team effectively. Your experience in contract management and post-award research project administration will be essential in driving successful outcomes. You will possess: Demonstrated proficiency and extensive background in research management, encompassing the leadership and curation of institutional funding applications across various research fund types, both competitive and non-competitive, as well as contract research; extensive track record in pre-award research project administration; proficiency in applying legislative and governance frameworks within a university or similar setting, with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies, and procedures effectively in the workplace; exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, encompassing leadership, negotiation, influence, and collaborative teamwork capabilities; aptitude for employing diverse approaches to problem-solving, actively seeking organisational input and advice to implement innovative solutions to complex challenge; previous experience with research management information systems; and extensive background in team management and leadership roles.
