About the roleThe ManagerReporting and Budget Strategy leads TAFE SA's consolidatedfinancial performance reporting to internal and externalstakeholders and the development and management of TAFE SA'slong term financial plan and budget forward estimates with theDepartment of Treasury and Finance. Leading a small team andworking closely with TAFE SA's Executive Team, Directors andFinance Business Partners, this role ensures the timely andaccurate development of budget targets and reporting of budgetperformance to external stakeholders such as the Department ofTreasury and Finance, Department for Education and Skills SA. Therole also ensures timely, accurate and insightful monthly financialperformance reporting to the TAFE SA Executive and Board. Thisposition provides advice and expertise on SA Government budgetrequirements, systems and processes and leads processes that drivedecision making, target setting, performance accountability andresource allocation for TAFE SA.
Key Selection Criteria Degree qualification in accounting, economics, or relatedfinancial/business management field, or equivalentexperience.Experience and understanding of SA Government budgeting andfinancial reporting frameworks, systems and requirementsAdvanced relationship management and communication skills,with the ability to drive decision making processes and thecourage to challenge Senior Managers in a respectful andappropriate manner on matters of financial management withintheir business unit.Demonstrated experience in the implementation andmanagement of financial models in a complex environment usingvarious modelling and reporting toolsDemonstrated experience in business analysis, developingstrategies to improve performance and providing concise writtenreports.Demonstrated experience in leading a small team anddemonstrating initiative while remaining focussed on agreedobjectives.Demonstrated experience in customer engagement, providing aresponsive and proactive customer focussed serviceCA or CPA designation would be highly desirableSpecial Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a validWorking with Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed.Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Departmentof Human Services (DHS). 
Out of hours work will be required.Some intra/interstate travel and overnight absences may berequired.Incumbent will be required to participate in thedepartment's Performance Development Program.Eligibility to work in Australia.It is an ongoing condition of employment for all employeeswhose employment is subject to a Health Direction/siterequirement, including but not limited to an Emergency HealthDirection, that they are fully compliant with the requirementsof the relevant Directions in order to perform their duties.This will also include but not be limited to: COVID 19.ApplicationInstructionsAll applications mustbe submitted online.
