Manager Regional Agribusiness Development Central Region; Rural Economic Development; Agriculture; Parkhurst Find purpose you feel, impact you see and a legacy you bring to life. #DAFcareers We're looking for a Manager Regional Agribusiness Development to join our innovative, high performing team in Rural Economic Development, Agriculture to: • Identify and connect industry to opportunity. • Facilitate growth, sustainable development and diversification of the agriculture sector along with associated supply & value chains; and • Optimise agriculture's contribution to economic, environmental, & social outcomes across rural and regional Queensland. As our Manager Regional Agribusiness Development, you will: • Utilise and develop strategic networks, including within DAF and other state agencies, to deliver a suite of services to help industry and enterprises address supply chain challenges; grow their business and; contribute to the regional economy. • Identify new agricultural industry development opportunities specific to the region and develop projects and lead multidisciplinary teams to respond to, and deliver on, these opportunities. • Lead the delivery of regional projects and activities and relevant state-wide initiatives on behalf of the RED Team when required. • Mentor, guide, lead and develop staff in a changing environment to deliver upon rural economic development priorities in the region and across Queensland. • Contribute as part of the DAF natural disaster response to quantify impacts and ensure that agribusinesses in Central Region recover quickly following a natural disaster event. What you will bring • Knowledge of agricultural production systems and ability to apply this knowledge for economic growth. • Apply research and analytical skills to gain information, data and background to support decisions, project outcomes and inform briefing material. • Experience in the management of staff and project outcomes. • Ability to travel and undertake work remotely. • Proven record of working independently.
