Exciting opportunity to join our team based in Herston!
The role As the Healthcare Improvement Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing healthcare services across Queensland by leading a multidisciplinary team of project officers dedicated to quality improvement and change management. Your primary responsibilities include adhering to established service quality standards and health and safety protocols while fostering a culture of excellence in alignment with Queensland Health's core values. You will lead collaborative efforts with clinicians statewide to implement best practice models of care, manage complex projects, and deliver expert advice to Clinical Excellence Queensland and other key stakeholders. Your strategic vision will drive the identification and promotion of effective healthcare improvement methodologies.
In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for program management and operational support for various governance groups, prioritizing tasks, mitigating risks, and achieving results under tight deadlines. You will build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders ranging from frontline clinicians to senior executives, employing your exceptional interpersonal, consultation, and negotiation skills to influence positive change. Your role also involves effective resource management, including team building, budget oversight, and performance appraisals, all while contributing to the overarching goals of the Healthcare Improvement Unit. Your ability to navigate complex organizational challenges will be essential as you support initiatives that aim to elevate healthcare outcomes across the state.
The successful person The essential requirements for this role are:
Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels, including the ability to negotiate, build relationships, influence stakeholders and manage staff within the healthcare portfolio.Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, agenda papers and other correspondence for a range of executive level and ministerial stakeholders.Proven experience working in the healthcare sector's challenging and dynamic operating environments including proven ability to lead, manage and deliver complex statewide clinical projects using quality improvement and redesign methodologies and tools, and achieve outcomes within time and cost limitations.Proven ability to provide strategic advice and direction within the healthcare environment while building and leading high-performance teams to deliver high quality outcomes within tight timeframes.About us The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
