The position supports the Director Passenger Transport in developing and implementing public transport reforms and service improvements to meet government commitments and departmental objectives.Key duties and responsibilities:Provide expert advice on planning issues related to passenger transport including public, school, and special needs students.Research and analyse qualitative and quantitative data, critically appraising information, evaluate results and weigh up options to provide recommendations for passenger transport plans.Develop business cases, project plans, communication strategies, and planning briefs for public transport network availability.Manage the delivery of projects, establishing clear plans and timeframes for completion for passenger transport services.Undertake economic evaluations, modelling costs and budget bids, and assessing revenue impacts.Manage network planning and the development of proposed new travel routes and timetables, overseeing community consultation processes.Prepare ministerial correspondence including Cabinet Submissions and other high-level correspondence and reports.Contribute to procurement processes, managing contracts, and participating in the assessment and awarding of contracts.Selection criteria:Essential:Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and management practices.Demonstrated knowledge of policy development and implementation.Well-developed change management knowledge.Demonstrated strong experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.Demonstrated experience of consultation, mediation, negotiation, and problem resolution techniques.High level oral and written communication skills.Ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.Hold an NT drivers' licence.Desirable:Knowledge of the public transport sector and relevant contemporary issues.Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as transport, planning or management.#J-18808-Ljbffr
