Lead and manage the development and presentation of research, analysis, options and recommendations for strategic policy and service planning activities based on international, national and state resources.The Manager (Projections and Analytics) is one of three manager positions within the Health Service Research, Analysis and Modelling (HSRAM) unit within System Planning Branch. The role oversees the application of projection methodologies to provide estimates of current and future health service demand. The role also oversees time-limited analysis around current health system and health service issues.You will provide authoritative advice on complex technical issues relevant to health research and priority health areas that informs strategic policy and service planning while undertaking analysis of data and information to identify future priorities and issues for Queensland Health that informs the development and review of strategic policy and service planning.The successful personYou will have demonstrated:High level knowledge of health priority areas; the health needs of key population groups; and key health system issues.High level ability to source, critically analyse and interpret research and information to underpin strategic policy and service planning.Proven ability to lead and manage a team of analysts with varying skills and technical backgrounds to achieve defined project outcomes, while driving a collaborative working environment and developing a team to work at the top of their capability requirements.Ability to critically analyse numerical data, clinical evidence and health service provision and planning information and apply it to health service provision and planning in the Queensland context to identify future priorities and issues to inform health service planning.Understanding of health service planning processes and high level ability in utilising frameworks and tools, and data collection and usage in managing the development of service plans.Ability to develop health service planning data into actionable insights and analysis to inform health service strategies, roadmaps and BI solutions.Expert ability to use a range of data tools and applications (e.g., SQL, R/Posit, Python, Power BI, Qlik, Tableau) to model, transform, define, document and present data analysis and insights.Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholder groups and build strong relationships with decision-makers.About usThe Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
