About the Role As a Manager Project Controls & Analysis, your purpose is to provides leadership to a team or teams focussed on the provision of project services (e.g. scope, cost estimating, budgets, cost analysis/control, planning & scheduling, forecasting, change management and risk) to influence the on-time and on-budget delivery of project objectives.
Key areas of focus are managing relationships with stakeholders, translating strategy into operational plans for the Project Controls & Analysis department, coaching Project Controls & Analysis leaders, provide input to the investment approval requests, and contribute to the local and functional leadership teams.
Reporting to the Program Director PC&A, your accountabilities will include:
Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, Code of Conduct, Our Requirements, and relevant standards and procedures.
An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
Establishes and/or oversees the implementation of Project Controls & Analysis strategies, plans, controls, processes, methodologies and systems.
Sets priorities for PC&A Lead Team to ensure task completion and facilitates PC&A responses to regional leadership requests for project information and analysis.
Engages with Development / Delivery Managers and Regional Heads of Projects to ensure an effective delivery of PC&A services to maximise value for the business while promoting an optimised, and standardised deliverable processes.
Locally assures quality, consistency and compliance of PC&A. Collaborates with other functional managers to ensure alignment of functional standards.
Prepares succession plans and developing/maintaining the functional talent pool, including cross-function and cross-business unit relationships to support talent sourcing needs.
Ensures teams are appropriately resourced to deliver value to our customers and BHP's investments.
Engages with key regional stakeholders and establishes effective communication channels to encourage collaboration and new ideas.
Leads in the identification and implementation of improvement initiatives, including programmatic opportunities for increased capital efficiency and productivity in the function.
Provides advice and guidance to the Regional Heads of Projects and other key stakeholders in PC&A and other areas.
About You As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
Demonstrated relevant experience with strong technical expertise in Project Management or Project Controls roles.
Demonstrated managerial experience in leading and delivering across a large and diverse portfolio of projects.
Demonstrated experience with project management systems and techniques.
Proven experience building, leading and developing high-performance teams.
Location and Roster This role is based in Perth on a 5D2X roster.  This role will also involve some site travel as required.
