Consulting & Generalist HR (Human Resources & Recruitment) The Whitsunday Region needs no introduction. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the provision of Council wide human resources and safety strategy, advice and services, and partnering with the organisation to drive high performance and contribute to a responsive and contemporary workforce which enables Council to achieve its corporate objectives. The role will provide oversight of Human Resource Operations, including Payroll, Organisational Development and Learning, Workplace Relations, Employee performance and human resource advice and coaching and Workplace Health and Safety, including Return to Work and Rehabilitation.
With exceptional leadership experience in a similar environment, you will thrive in an environment where you will be required to review current Human Resources functions and effectively rebuild the department, implementing contemporary, best practice processes and procedures. As a leader, you lead by example, are visible and present and can develop an environment of trust and collaboration between disparate teams. You are comfortable leading in an environment of organisational and cultural change while maintaining high quality services to the organisation.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, Local Government or other qualifications relevant to the position are essential, as is demonstrable experience in a relevant area of Local Government or similar regulated environment. You have exceptional communication and engagement skills and proven ability to develop the capacity of your staff through coaching and mentoring to being a high performing unit.
