The Manager, Payroll Services leads the payroll function and ensures the business area provides a high level of customer service to all its clients. This leader provides specialist knowledge and expertise in payroll and related matters.
The Manager, Payroll Services is an expert in payroll compliance and reporting obligations and ensures statutory compliance obligations are met on time and to the highest standard.
Processes and systems that capitalise on our newly implemented payroll platform, SAP Success Factors - People Central Payroll are designed and deployed by the Manager, Payroll Services to address identified improvement opportunities and ensure ongoing compliance with all legislative obligations.
As a proficient communicator, the Manager, Payroll Services works with discretion and fosters relationships with the People Experience Centre to ensure seamless service delivery and a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients that ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures.
About you
You will have experience in a similar role working within a large and complex organisation. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate your extensive leadership experience as well as exposure to Success Factors - People Central Payroll. You will lead the Payroll function and a team with diverse skillsets and responsibilities including Payroll Officers, Payroll System Administrator and Senior Payroll Officer. You will be responsible for the operational policy and service development, ensuring ongoing compliance.
The Manager, Payroll Services handles highly complex and sensitive information relating to employees. You will therefore demonstrate well-developed interpersonal and communication skills when reviewing and approving the fortnightly payroll, including review of Enterprise Agreement calculations and processing of terminations for WorkSafe Victoria and the Workplace Injury Commission (WIC).

Experience using and or implementing SAP Success Factors - People Central Payroll, highly desirable. Demonstrable experience and skill in managing a payroll function in a large organisation. Demonstrable experience in maintaining, developing and administering payroll systems, including developing reports. Sound knowledge and understanding of current legislation and compliance requirements relating to payroll. Highly developed level of customer service skill. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skill with a demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise effectively with staff at all levels and external clients. Well-developed work planning and organisation skills, and demonstrated ability to address fluctuating work demands, changing priorities and timelines. Demonstrable commitment to process improvement. Proven ability to manage, train, develop and direct staff. What's next?
