Manager - Operations / Doctor Rostering and Well-being Office Management (Administration & Office Support)

The Role: Northern Health employs senior and junior medical staff to support clinical activities across all its campuses. The Medical Workforce Unit (MWU) is responsible for medical workforce planning and the recruitment of senior medical staff (SMS) and junior medical staff (JMS) across Northern Health. The MWU is also responsible for providing employee service functions to medical staff and for providing policy advice on issues relating to employment of medical staff at Northern Health.
Manager Operations/Doctor Rostering and Wellbeing is responsible for the day-to-day management of Medical Workforce Unit (MWU) operational functions including:
Oversight of Junior Medical Staff (JMS) Allocation PlansOversight of Medical Staff rostering, RosterOn management and approval of roster reviews and changes (with business manager input).Wellbeing - checks in on JMS involved in clinical incidents and follows up on JMS in difficulty or on prolonged sick leaveOversight of Medical Staff leave management and backfilling sick calls/vacancies.Medical Staff relievers portfolio and liaison with Heads of Units (HOUs) and Divisional Directors regarding staff redeploymentManagement of the staff within the team including supervision, training & professional development, and performance management, in conjunction with the Operational Director, Medical Workforce.Assist the Operational Director, Medical Workforce and Deputy Chief Medical Officer (or delegate) as requiredTo be successful in this role you will have: Qualification in a Clinical Field/Human Resources/ Business Administration (or working towards)Or, at the discretion of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, has extensive experience developing a new unit or leading major change within an established unit or have a minimum of 10 years' experience leading a team of staffProven willingness to learn and adapt to a new environment and understand JMS career pathways, Doctors in Training Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and medical recruitment processes.Proven ability to lead and inspire a high functioning team towards a common goalAbility to manage change amongst various stakeholdersKnowledge of Northern Health Clinical Environment (or equivalent health service) and understanding of clinical demand, access and flow.High level of communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skillsSelf-awareness, resilience and the ability to reflect on constructive feedbackNext Steps . .
