Manager, Office of the Deputy Director-GeneralWe have an exciting, fixed term temporary full-time opportunity for you to join our Office of the Deputy Director-General (DDG) based in Brisbane CBD!
Lead, manage and resolve strategic and operational matters required of, and impacting on, the DDG and branches within Strategy, Policy and Reform Division, to support the effective and efficient delivery of priorities and outcomes.
The Manager, Office of the DDG reports to the Director, Office of the DDG.
The Manager leads initiatives for the DDG in Strategy, Policy and Reform Division and supports the functions of the organisation in administration, human resources, planning, finance, accommodation, communications and information management, procurement and contract management.
Key responsibilities include: Lead, manage and resolve strategic and operational matters required of, and impacting on, the DDG and branches within Strategy, Policy and Reform Division, to support the effective and efficient delivery of priorities and outcomes.Establish and maintain close working relationships with key stakeholders including Hospital and Health Services, Department of Health Divisions and other Government agencies.Provide strong leadership and management of initiatives, special projects and key business support activities.Maintain a strong understanding of, be conversant with, and continually review relevant departmental and whole of government policy issues and provide high quality, thorough and timely advice to the DDG.The successful person You will have demonstrated:
Management skills, particularly leading a team in a high-pressure environment.Demonstrated knowledge and experience of contemporary finance, human resources and procurement practices.High-level strategic skills and sound judgement in a high activity environment, responsive to government and senior executive needs.Ability to manage multiple tasks, setting priorities and achieving results within tight deadlines in an environment of change.High-level problem solving and issues management skills and capacity to analyse and integrate information from diverse sources.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated capacity to liaise, mediate and negotiate with all levels of staff and with a range of stakeholders in a sensitive and confidential manner.About us The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland.
