About the Role: Applications close 19 November 2024• The Manager will work with the Finance Officer and the management committee to coordinate the delivery of services to maintain frail aged people, who are at risk of premature institutionalisation, in their own homes.
• The Manager will manage the delivery of client services on a day to day basis.As the Manager for Wagga Wagga Meals on Wheels you will be responsible for governance, food safety standards, and volunteer coordination. You will be responsible for maintaining client information, assessing eligibility for services, and facilitating access to support programs, in line with our Quality Standards. This position requires a current driver's license, as home visits are a crucial aspect of the role. The role is currently 24 hours per week, but subject to review depending on the circumstances of the service and the successful applicant.
The Manager will be employed under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award, Grade 8 with a current hourly rate of $63.18.

Responsibilities and Duties: Manage the day to day operation of the Service including:
Establish working procedures to achieve required outcomes of organisationAssess people seeking assistance from the service and develop service delivery plansManage new referralsManage the production of daily delivery schedulesManage the delivery of all meals including bulk salesPeriodically assess and review the needs of service consumersManage the maintenance of daily service and client recordsImplement the strategic planIdentify sources of funding and complete submissionsEnsure policies and procedures are reviewed on a regular basisStaff and Volunteer Management: Recruitment and discipline of staff according to policyEnsure appropriate and adequate supervision, training, support and are provided to staffAs Team Leader ensure that staff members fulfil the requirements of their job descriptionsEnsure appropriate and adequate supervision, training, support and are provided to volunteersEnsure the provision and maintenance of safe working conditions for all staffPolicy and Planning: Liaise with funding bodyData collection collation and entry into a computerised data management system and the compilation of statistical reports as required by funding bodyMaintenance of information on other CHSP servicesDevelop for consideration by the management committee appropriate procedures and policies for meeting the needs of consumersImplement agreed policies & proceduresParticipate in the development of the strategic plan of the organisationPublic Relations: Represent the service to government, other community agencies and the wider communityDevelop links with relevant organisations to promote greater and more effective coordination of services for the communityOther Duties: Provide regular reports to the management committee on the operations of the serviceCarry out other duties in line with the philosophy and objectives of the organisation and as directed by the management committeeQualifications and Skills: Knowledge of relevant community resourcesExcellent organisational and communication skillsStrong computer skills including competence in the use of Word, Excel, Access and the ability to adapt to custom softwareA strong motivation and commitment to the principles of CHSPA strong commitment to working with frail aged and younger people with disabilitiesAbility to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to customer service and community welfareAbility to assess medical, social and environmental factors and in particular the degree of functional disability of consumersPrevious experience in food service, volunteer coordination, and administrationFamiliarity with knowledge of food safety standards and proceduresUnderstanding of food safety standards and proceduresIdeally you will have experience in an aged care, community service or social service setting. Prior exposure to the My Aged Care processes, and other similar services will greatly support your success in this position. As part of the role you will be required to complete your Food Safety Supervisor course and a National Police Check.
