We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager - Major Hazard Facility to join our team in Arndell Park, NSW.
In this key role, you will be responsible for developing and managing the Major Hazard Facility Safety Case and ensuring ongoing compliance with Group MHF policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include: Develop and manage the Major Hazard Facility Safety Case and associated compliance activities.Guide the implementation, monitoring, and reporting on compliance with the safety case, ensuring the business is fully compliant.Provide expert HSEQ advice and guidance, partnering with site leadership to improve process safety and supporting the continuous improvement of our HSE culture and performance.Proactively drive and align site initiatives with the overall HSE Strategy.Identify and interpret legal requirements and provide operational advice to manage risks and ensure compliance with MHF, HSE, ADG, and other relevant legislation and standards.Lead and contribute to the completion of risk assessments (PHA, HAZOP, Bowtie Risk Assessments, LOPA) to mitigate hazards.To be successful in this role, your experience and knowledge will include: Knowledge/Experience Practical experience in a HSE role with a focus on petrochemicals and major hazard facilities.An understanding of business, issues and restraints faced by line managers in implementing HSE processes and programs.Experience in relationship management of both internal clients and external stakeholders.Prior experience in participating in third party audits and corrective action planning.Technical/Professional Skills required: Detailed knowledge of HSE legislation, industry standards and management system standards (AS4801, OHSAS18001 & ISO14001).Ability to exercise sound judgement in the interpretation and analysis of HSE legislation and audit criteria.Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with fellow team members, management, stakeholders and industry experts and write high quality reports.Experience in conducting incident investigations using ICAM or similar methodologies.Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others including legislators, external auditors, accreditation bodies, industry experts.Qualifications – Education and/or professional: Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or tertiary HSE qualifications.Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Environmental Management (desirable).Dangerous Goods qualifications/training (desirable).Chartered/Certified HSE professional (desirable).Internal Auditor qualifications - IRCA, Exemplar Global or equivalent (desirable).Why Join Us?
