Description & RequirementsAbout the Role Based in our Brisbane office, the focus for this position is to develop and implement strategies for Warehouse & Logistics in PNG, optimising value and managing risks.
It oversees third-party logistics contractors, ensures efficient operations and compliance, and acts as the primary contact for logistics and warehouse operations in PNG.
Key accountabilities include: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to support Warehouse & Logistics services for operations and projects.Coordinate Level 1 and Level 2 assurance programs.Support the development and training of Nationals in logistics operations.Act as a key stakeholder in managing and overseeing both Santos operations and third-party logistics contractors supporting the PNG Supply Chain with:
Warehouse operations and order fulfilment, including Supply Bases in Australia, PNG, global freight consolidation points, and Project laydown operations.Material quality, inspection, and preservation.Optimisation of land transport services for materials, equipment, and bulk haulage of liquids and fuel.Monitoring road and logistics infrastructure conditions and developing plans to maintain transport suitability.International freight forwarding and priority air services.Serve as the key point of contact in PNG for all logistics and supply chain operations and major projects:
Supporting field development, drilling, and major projects with international break bulk, laydown management, and heavy logistics.Ensuring customs compliance, and application of tariff concessions and duty mitigation.About You You have extensive experience in warehouse operations, logistics and transport management, and inventory management.

You will be experienced in:
Oversight of logistics and warehouse operations in the energy or heavy construction industry, preferably with experience in these disciplines within a PNG operating environment.Leading business improvements through strategies and LEAN initiatives.Defining contract scope and specifications and managing supplier relationships.Proficiency in supply chain systems, ERP systems, including Warehouse Management Systems.Expertise in risk management, assurance, legislation, and compliance.Supply Chain Degree qualified or an associated discipline.Ideally, you would have experience with regional, remote, and offshore logistics operations, as well as multi-modal logistics operations.
Additionally, holding a completed Certificate or Diploma in Logistics and a Project Management certification (PMP or similar) is highly desired.
Experience in major construction and development project logistics operations, along with expertise in Project Management and Change Management, would be highly advantageous.
Please note, this role will occasionally require visits to our PNG sites as needed.
